What to expect

My Pilates sessions are steady, focused sessions built around controlled movement, core strength, and improving postural alignment. Each session is tailored to your needs, allowing you to work with precision and at a pace that feels comfortable and sustainable.

We begin by gently activating the core and preparing the body, then move through a series of targeted exercises that build strength, stability, and awareness through the whole body. The work is intentional and supportive, helping you develop balanced strength and confident movement patterns.

The atmosphere is calm, encouraging, and centred on your personal progress.

What are the benefits?

Pilates is about more than building a strong core. Through controlled, precise movement, it helps improve postural alignment, develop balanced strength, and create better movement patterns that support you through everyday life. Personalised sessions allow you to focus on the areas that matter most to you, helping you move with greater ease and confidence.

Alongside the physical benefits, Pilates offers a calm, focused space to connect with your breath, build awareness, and reduce the effects of daily tension. It's time set aside for you — to move with intention, reset, and feel more grounded in your body.

Is it for me?

Pilates is a method of conditioning the body and strengthening the function of deep muscles, especially those associated with the core. To ensure you can participate safely and get the most from the session, it is imperative you chose the right class relevant to your Pilates experience, current fitness and level of activity.

If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, specific injuries, or concerns, it's important that you seek advice from your doctor or another relevant healthcare professional before taking part. Please ensure that I am notified of any relevant information and participate only if you are well and can exercise safely. If you would like to discuss any concerns or unsure whether it is safe for you, please contact me.

Beginner

This session introduces the foundational principles of Pilates — concentration, centering, control, precision, and breathing — with a calm, steady pace that supports confidence and ease. It's well suited to newcomers, those returning to Pilates, and regular practitioners who appreciate a slower, more intentional approach. Participants should feel comfortable standing unaided for short periods, transitioning to and from the floor, kneeling (with pads if preferred), and lying down.

Intermediate

This session builds strength and endurance by developing Pilates exercises to a more advanced level, offering a steady progression for those ready to deepen their practice. It's designed for individuals with a good level of fitness, solid Pilates experience, and a confident understanding of the key principles.

Participants should feel comfortable completing lowerlevel exercises with ease before progressing to this class. If you're unsure which level is right for you, please get in touch or consider an individual session to explore the best fit.

Is an individual session right for me?

We begin with a gentle, noninvasive postural alignment check so we can understand how your body moves, where you feel strong, and where you might need more support.

Whether you want to improve posture, build core strength, ease tension, or feel more confident in everyday movement, the session is shaped around what you want to get out of it.

You get a personalised exercise plan designed to help you progress safely, effectively, and at a pace that feels right for you.

With one-to-one or two-to-one attention, you get hands on cueing, precise corrections, and space to ask questions — all of which help you build strength and awareness more quickly and comfortably.

Is an individual session safe?

Pilates is a low impact, controlled form of movement, and individual sessions allow you to work with close guidance and attention to technique.

To tailor the session effectively, I'll need to know about any preexisting conditions, injuries, or areas of concern. If you're managing a medical condition, it's important to seek advice from your doctor or healthcare professional before taking part, so we can make sure the session is appropriate for you.

The focus throughout is on moving with control, staying within your comfortable range, and building strength and awareness at a pace that feels right for your body.

What should I bring?

Wear comfortable clothing (e.g. shorts, leggings, t-shirt) that allows for a full range of movement. For your feet, being barefoot or wearing thin socks is ideal for grip and stability.

For classes: Please bring a Yoga or Pilates mat. Accessories can be provided, but bring your own if you prefer.

For Individual sessions: I provide Pilates mats and supplementary equipment, but you're welcome to bring your own.
